Siddîk Ali Baba Divançesi

Sıddîk Ali Baba (1244/1828) was one of The Turkish Poetry poets of the 19th century. He was not a known poet of its age. There is not much information about him in the written sources. He was one of the studients of Hoca Neş'et. The Divançe of the poet is composed of 76 ghazels, 29 historical poems and 2 müfreds. In this thesis, Sıddık Ali Baba's divançe was studied structurally by giving brief informations about his life, the age he lived in and his literary personality. After that, the transcriptional text of writing depending on numbered T2863 single copy which is in Rare Works Library of İstanbul University is given. With this study, Sıddık Ali Baba's identity, his literary personality and divançe was brought to light and a poet from the 19th Century Classical Turkish Literature was brought in poetry history.
