Photometric and astrometric analysis of selected open clusters

Abstract (EN)

In the thesis study, both structural and astrophysical parameters of open clusters Czernik 2 and NGC 7654 were obtained by using CCD UBV photometric and astrometric data in the Gaia DR2 catalog. Photometric observations of these clusters were performed with the T100 telescope at the TUBITAK National Observatory. Structural and astrophysical parameters of Czernik 2 cluster were obtained for the first time in this thesis, while the values of NGC 7654 cluster were also updated. The central density and core radius of Czernik 2 were estimated to be f0 = 1.426 ± 0.663 star/arcmin2 and rc = 0.988 ± 0.879 arcmin, respectively, while colour excess, metallicity and the age were found to be E(B-V) = 0.49 ± 0.02 mag, [Fe/H] = -0.04 ± 0.03 dex and t = 650 ± 100 Myr, respectively. The central density and core radius of NGC 7654 were found to be f0 = 3.024 ± 0.274 star/arcmin2 and rc = 4.663 ± 0.699 arcmin, respectively, while colour excess, metallicity and the age were estimated as E(B-V) = 0.57 ± 0.05 mag, [Fe/H] = -0.04 ± 0.02 dex and t = 37 ± 5 Myr, respectively. The initial mass functions of the open clusters Czernik 2 and NGC 7654 were calculated as X = 1.30 ± 0.49 and X = 1.49 ± 0.12, respectively, are compatible with the X = 1.35 value given for the Solar vicinity.
