Developing a choice theory based family resilience program

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Choice Theory-based online family resilience program on increasing family resilience. Relational Resilience Scale, Relationship Satisfaction Scale, which is a subscale of Relationship Stability Scale, and Demographic Information Form were used to form the study group of the research. As a result of the analyses, 24 married women were divided into experimental, placebo and control groups, with 8 people in each group. While the Choice Theory-based online family resilience program consisting of 8 sessions developed within the scope of the research was applied to the experimental group, placebo groups watched movies for 8 sessions, and no action was taken in the experimental process for the control group. The Relational Resilience Scale was applied to take the pre-test before the program started, the post-test after the program ended, and the follow-up test 8 weeks after the post-test measurement. Data were analyzed using two-factor analysis of variance. In order to support the quantitative findings obtained, interviews were conducted with the participants of experimental group 4 weeks after the follow-up test and with the spouses of the participants 1 week after this interview. The results showed that the online family resilience program based on the Choice Theory was significantly effective in increasing the family resilience levels of the participants and this effect was seemed to be permanent for 8 weeks.
