Abstract (EN)

Today, contamination of water resources with various pollutants creates a global environmental problem. Pollutants constitue a large group of these materials with the increasing use of industrial materials. Activated carbon is the most widely used adsorbent. It can use removal of heavy metals, organic compounds, dyestuffs from aqueous solution through the high surface area and pore volume. However, the price of activated carbon is high. Its use is limited due to the high cost, and therefore it led to search for low-cost adsorbents. In this study, removal of Brilliant Green, a basic material, from aqueous media will be examined. Waste water which is including dye using low cost adsorbent such as peach stone different experimental conditions a system operating in discontinuous by adsorption processes decolorization was aimed to be done. Optimum conditions were determined by trying different time, temperature, pH, adsorbent amount, and dye concentration parameters and tried to obtain the highest removal efficiency. As a result of experiments made good dyestuff adsorption at pH 9, 25 mg/L, 150 rpm, 2 g/L and 60ºC can be achieved undersuitable conditions have been found in 98.27 % yield. The obtained experimental data, The suitability of various equilibrium izoterm (Langmuir, Freundlich) and kinetic (pseudo first order, peudo second order) models on adsorption process were investigated. Equilibrium isotherms were well described by Langmuir equilibrium isotherm equation. Adsorption kinetics were fitted with the pseudo second order equation. Thermodynamic parameters (ΔHº, ΔSº, ΔGº) were calculated. The positive value of enthalpy (ΔHº) shows that the adsorption process is endothermic, the negative values of Gibbs free energy (ΔGº) indicate that the spontaneity of the adsorption process and the positive value of entropy (ΔSº) shows the increasing of randomness at the adsorbent–solution interface. According the results, prepared activated carbon can be used as a low-cost adsorbents for the removal of Brilliant Green from wastewater.
