Abstract (EN)

This study aims to analyze scientific publications on city branding through bibliometric methods, providing a comprehensive evaluation of the academic literature and identifying key trends in the field. Academic studies published within a specific timeframe were examined, focusing on publication types (articles, theses, conference papers, etc.), the journals in which they appeared, author collaborations, keywords, citation counts, frequently used methodologies, and major thematic areas. The dataset was compiled from academic databases such as TR Dizin, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. The bibliometric analysis identified the temporal distribution of research on city branding, prevalent themes, and the dominant perspectives adopted in the literature (economic, social, cultural, tourism, etc.). This study contributes to the understanding of the academic development of city branding research, mapping its intellectual trajectory and providing insights into future directions. Additionally, it underscores the necessity of expanding the practical implications of academic studies to enhance the effectiveness of city branding strategies. In this regard, the study seeks to bridge gaps in the literature while serving as a guide for local governments, academics, and policymakers.
