Abstract (EN)
In this study, 50 questions of LGS Central Exam English subtest between the years of 2019-2023 were examined according to The Knowledge Domain and Levels of Processing in The New Marzano Taxonomy. The document analysis research design was used in this study. In terms of the first subproblem, 50 questions were matched with the learning outcomes of the 8th grade curriculum. Secondly, levels of the learning outcomes were determined according to The Knowledge Domain and Levels of Processing. In terms of the third subproblem, 50 questions were determined according to The Knowledge Domain and Levels of Processing. According to the findings, it was determined that most of the questions were asked from the first unit and no questions were asked from the unit ten. It was determined that the learning outcomes were mostly at the mental procedures level in the The Knowledge Domain and at Retrieval level in the Levels of Processing. It was determined that the questions were mostly at the information level in the The Knowledge Domain and at the Retrieval level in the Levels of Processing, and there were no questions at the Knowledge Utilization, Metacognitive System and Self-system levels. It was determined that the higher-order thinking skills and metacognition level emphasized in the taxonomy were not reflected in the learning outcomes and the questions. It was suggested that learning outcomes, questions and activities that will support students' higher-order thinking skills and metacognitive skills should be included more in the curriculum and the questions.
