Abstract (EN)
Islamic Civilization is often described as a book civilization. Since many verses and hadiths encourage knowledge, Muslims have written countless works with an emphasis on reading and writing. Seljuks which an Islamic state and the Turkmen Principalities which their continuation Turkmen Principalities also gave importance to scholars and books. Scholars wrote numerous works and filled libraries with the encouragement of the Seljuk sultans. In the Seljuk period, book promotion became so widespread that a unique book culture was created during the Seljuk period. In this study, it was tried to touch on book culture in almost every aspect during the Seljuks and Principalities. In the introduction part, the book culture in the Turkish states before the Seljuks, which the Seljuks took as an example, was mentioned. In the first part, during the Seljuk period subjects related to the book culture such as the content of books, book arts, book materials, bookstores were discussed. In the second part, the libraries formed with the development of the book culture were browsed. In this part, during the Seljuk period library types, their functioning, organization, foundations and employees were examined.
