Optimization of bleaching process parameters of cotton fabric with bentonite by taguchi method

The study has been about bleaching the cotton fabric with bentonite, which is a natural substance that will enable sustainable and clean production. It is aimed to determine optimum conditions for bleaching cellulosic-based textile materials with bentonite. For this purpose, optimum bleaching conditions were tried to be determined with Taguchi Method. After a series of experiments, the whiteness-yellowness index and burst strength of the fabric samples were examined. The increase in the amount of Ca-bentonite used did not cause the cotton fabric to turn yellow while increasing its strength. The presented thesis study consists of five sections. In the first section, the purpose of the study is explained. In the second section, cotton fiber, working mechanisms are mentioned and the properties of bleaching process related to its usage areas in textile pre-finishing processes are discussed. In the third section, information about the method of the research, the applications which are performed, the tools which are used, the test methods and are given. In the fourth section, the results obtained from the measurement data are specified. The fifth and the last part includes general discussions and suggestions.
