Menâkıbu?l-Evliyâ of Şerîf Muhammed Efendi (Investigation-text-index)

This study is composed of three parts. In the first part, genre of legend hagiography has been described and legend hagiographies in Turkish Literature have been illustrated with examples chronologically. In the second part, informations were given about Sheriff Muhammed Efendi?s life, his family, the tariqa which he tend to and his works and Menakıbu?l-Evliya?s content and editions, the style he used on. In the third part of the study which forms the base, after Menakıbu?l-Evliya was written with transcription, and the acquired 5 editions were compared and the differences of the editions were shown in footnotes, mistakes and deficiencies in the text were completed.
