Investigation of title authority and responsibilities in blasting of hard rock masses

Blasting operations are carried out as routine work in mining activities. Effective mining operations require a good blasting design. On the other hand, it is not clear what the title of the technical person responsible for the blasting operations will be. The aim of this thesis to help eliminate the ambiguities regarding the titles of the persons responsible for the blasting excavations. For this purpose, literature information has been given about parameters affecting blasting design, environmental effects of blasting, storage, transportation and use of explosive materials. Some statutes related to the subject have also been examined. Finally, the area of responsibility of the person or persons responsible for the blasting is addressed. The tasks and difference between the blaster and the expert engineer responsible for the blasting design were tried to be determined. In this context, inferences have been made about who may be the person or persons responsible for the blasting design. In addition, the measures to be taken before and after blasting operations are mentioned within the scope of this thesis.
