Abstract (EN)
Şeryan Stream (Eleşkirt) Basin is located in the Upper Murat-Van Section of Eastern Anatolia. The basin is a bowl-like hydrographic basin surrounded by high mountains. Administratively, the basin, which is mostly located in the district of Eleşkirt (Ağrı), also has borders with the surrounding districts. The basin was prepared by using geographical research methods and techniques. ArcGIS 10.6, Global Mapper, Google Earth Pro and Suffer-13 programs were used in the production of maps, tables and graphics, and the Microsoft Office 365 application was assisted in creating the text. Explanatory mixed design was used in the research. The shaping and diversification of the geomorphology of the basin is due to the fact that Eastern Anatolia is located in the geological suture belt and accordingly it is under the influence of tectonic and volcanic activities. The basin, which contains various lithological structures, has units that have surfaced from Upper Cretaceous to Quaternary. In general, in the area where semi-humid-semi-arid continental climate is dominant, it is seen that the factors of aspect, altitude and humidity create local differences in the distribution of climate, soil and vegetation. In addition to the presence of various soil types in the basin, chestnut colored soils dominate. Anthropogenic steppes and mountain meadows form the dominant grass formation. Shrubs are seen locally in the valleys of the basin, where there is no forest cover.
