Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between emotional eating, external eating, restrictive eating and intuitive eating behaviors in adolescents and the variables of identity dimensions, personality traits, cognitive closure need and life satisfaction. The research group of the study consists of 592 (375 Female, 217 Male) high school students who continue their education in various schools in different provinces of Turkey. The research was carried out with the relational screening model. In this study, Personal Information Form, Dutch Eating Behaviors Questionnaire, Intuitive Eating 2 Scale, Rapid Big Five Personality Test, Utrecht Identity Attachment Scale, Need for Completion Scale Short Form and Life Satisfaction Scale were applied to the research group in order to determine the characteristics of the participants regarding the relevant variables. Statistical analyzes of the research were carried out using the SPSS program. When the results of the research were examined, it was found that attachment, in-depth exploration and in-depth exploration of options from the dimensions of identity predict emotional eating; the restrictive eating behavior of the in-depth exploration dimension, the external eating behavior of the attachment dimension; It was found that the dimension of making attachment and evaluating options in depth predicted intuitive eating behavior. In terms of personality traits, emotional eating was predicted by the dimensions of openness to experience, responsibility and emotional balance; emotional balance predicted restrictive eating; external eating was predicted by extraversion, responsibility and emotional balance dimensions; It was determined that intuitive eating was predicted by the sub-dimensions of agreeableness, responsibility, emotional stability and openness to experience. From the perspective of the need for closure, the need for closure includes emotional eating; In terms of life satisfaction, it was found that life satisfaction predicted emotional eating and intuitive eating. Finally, the findings of the research were discussed in the light of the literature and suggestions were made for practitioners and researchers.
