Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine physical and mechanical properties of oriented strand particleboards (OSB) prepared with silane modified phenol formaldehyde and urea formaldehyde. Scotch pine wood strands were used to the study. The adhesives obtained with adding of 1%, 2% and 3% silane were used to manufacture the OSBs. The physical such as density, water absorption and swelling, and mechanical properties such as flexure strength (MOR), elasticity module at flexure (MOE), internal bonding strength (MOR), and screw holding strength of the resulting OSBs panels was determined. According to the test done, The water absorption and swelling in the physical properties of adding silane in the OSBs obtained was determined to be improve as 10-30% and improving ratio for the mechanical properties of the same OSBs were also found to be at 10%. The best results obtained in the physical and mechanical properties were found to be to 3% silane modified phenol formaldehyde.
