Abstract (EN)
In this study, forced convective heat and mass transfer in flow around a wet surface circular cylinder has been numerically investigated. Firstly, the effects of inlet air conditions on mean Nusselt (Nu) and Sherwood (Sh) numbers, which are as an indicator of convective heat and mass transfer from cylinder surface, have been analyzed. Secondly, oscillating transverse velocity condition has been imposed to inlet as v (t)=Asin(?t) to provide oscillating flow field which oscillates with a certain amplitude and frequency. Thus, in a oscillating flow, convective heat and mass transfer from cylinder surface have been analyzed depending on a dimensionless parameter (A/ftD) defined by oscillating transverse velocity parameters, in addition to temperature and humidity. In the numerical analysis, the k- ? turbulence model with Kato-Launder modification and low Reynolds number k- ? model which depends on unsteady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) equations have been used. In the numerical study, the finite volume method and staggered grid have been used. According to the results, under the conditions of both of oscillating and non-oscillating flows the Nu and Sh numbers which characterize heat and mass transfer between flow and cylinder, increases with increasing Reynolds (Re) number. In addition, it has been obtained that heat and mass transfer substantially depends on dimensionless parameter of A/ft D in oscillating flow.
