Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY Experimental Study of the Effects of the Cylindrical Elements on the Flow Field in the Pipe In this study »the effects of cylindrical elements on the flow field in cylindrical tubes are studied. Experiments are carried out at three annulars and one plain tube which had four different diameter ratios. In the experiment, the range of Reynolds numbers were varied between 18875 and 513184. Axial velocities of air were measured and velocity profiles have been drawn at different stations along the tube. Using least square technique, a general empirical formu lation is given for pressure drop coefficients as a function of length ratio (L/l), diameter ratio (D/d) and Reynolds number, at a choosen tube length L.
