Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, calculations were made by using seismic methods and obtained seismic models and sections were evaluated in order to reveal the underground structure of Batman province city center and the surface problems in the city. It was aimed to learn new information on the surface condition of the city center and fault, collapse, carstic spaces and loose units that form the weak resistances of the surface. In this study, underground structure and its physical properties were evaluated together with geological problems by making instrumental measurements with seismic refraction and multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW) methods which play an important role in solving geotechnical problems as well as widely used in the surface studies for engineering purposes. Seismic velocity and actual thickness of the layers were horizontally and vertically determined with seismic refraction and multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW) methods. Seismic refraction, seismic reflection and Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) studies were carried out with seismic methods in order to learn more about the surface properties and layer limits of the survey site.
