The factors affecting voters in political preferences, the case of Aksaray province

It is possible for individuals to be included in the political system for certain purposes and to realize their expectations and aspirations through political participation. Political participation, which has gained importance in the elections, and the factors affecting the political participation have been increasing in recent years. The political preferences that arise as a result of the characteristics of the innate and lived society reveal the importance of analyzing the factors that affect the voter behavior. In this study examining political participation and voter behavior which is an important issue for a democratic state, the political factors affecting the voters in Aksaray province are examined in terms of political participation levels, factors affecting voting behavior, political preference tendencies in the past and general and local elections. The fact that the voters living in Aksaray have the determinants of the issues affecting the voting decisions regarding their political preferences will contribute to the literature for the researcher and academic circles, but it will also be beneficial for the political leaders and political institutions in Aksaray. In this study, which aims to produce a sociopolitical photograph of Aksaray, a survey was conducted to examine the factors affecting political preferences in Aksaray. As a result of the survey analysis, the first three items found to be positive among the factors affecting the political preferences of the individuals participating in the research were found to be honesty of the candidate, diligent skillful and completion of the candidates, and knowledge of the state and country issues of the candidates. However, political opinion, local media and environmental factors have been identified as factors that affect the individual's political behavior by affecting them politically.
