Vocabulary analysis of Sındırgı region dialects

In this study, vocabulary has been determined in the central dialect and local dialects of Sındırgı district of Balıkesir province. The words in the dialects of the Sındırgı region were examined according to onomastic methods and classified according to their conceptual fields. To reveal the oral cultural heritage, which is a reflection of the thought and life world of people live in Sındırgı, to record the constantly changing and developing language elements such as dialects, to identify the words used in various contexts in dialects by differentiating from the standard language. It is of great importance to conduct a vocabulary research in dialect studies in order to have the opportunity to compare with the historical and contemporary periods of Turkish language or other dialects of Anatolia with linguistic techniques. In this context, it is aimed to contribute to the field by conducting vocabulary research in Sındırgı dialects. The majority of the Sındırgı district consists of Manav and Yörük communities. The Çepni and Muhacir communities are in the minority. In order to determine the vocabulary belonging to the dialects of all these communities living in Sındırgı, field research was conducted and interviews were conducted with a total of 150 people in 35 neighborhoods. In the field research, a two-stage study consisting of scientific compilation and question-answer methods was carried out. In addition, previous compilation studies by dialect and folklore researchers, thesis and books were examined. The Compilation Dictionary were scanned and the data obtained from here were included in the study. All the data included in the study were tried to be classified comprehensively according to the conceptual fields. The material collected in the field research was translated into the text using the transcription system.
