A study on primary school teachers' technological pedagogical area knowledge toward science and self confidence perceptions

The aim of this study is to examine the technological pedagogical content knowledge of Primary school teachers towards the science course and the self-confidence perceptions of the teachers through various variables One of the quantitative research, survey method was used in the research. 314 Primary school teachers working in public or private schools in Kütahya and It's province participated in the study In 2017-2018 academic year, As gathering the data, Technological Pedagogical Field Self-Confidence Scale (TPABÖGÖ) developed by Graham, Burgoyne, Cantrell, Smith, and Harris (2009) and adapted to Turkish by Timur and Tasar (2011) and Personal Information Form developed by the researcher were used. In the results of the study; the TPAB, self-confidence perceptions of the Primary School Teachers were found to be high. When the scores of the TPB component of the TPAB scale are analysed according to the gender of the Primary School Teachers, statistically significant difference was found in favour of male teachers. It was found that there was no statistically significant difference between Primary School Teachers' TPAB self-confidence perceptions by the type of school they were working in, whether they had internet and educational applications on their mobile devices, whether they had in-service training about IT, and the duration of daily internet use. In addition, as the age and occupational seniority of Primary School Teachers increase, TB, TBP and TPAB levels and self-confidence perception decrease; the level of TB increases as the level of their education increases. As computer experience and Internet experience increase, TPAB self-confidence perception levels are also increases
