The evaluation of the 5th grade textbook in terms of teachers: Sample of Afyonkarahisar

The purpose of this study is to analyze the 5th grade social studies textbook, which has been used in 2018 with the changing social studies curriculum, according to teachers opnions. In the study a survey was contucted with 120 social studies teachers and 12 teachers were interviwed into center of were interviwed in the center of Afyonkarahisar and the villages and neighborhoods. Thus, the mixed methods are used in the research has beeb utilized. According to the information obtained from the teachers opinions. It was seen that the 5th lesson textbook, which was used in 2018, showed in the last year, however, it is conduded that there are aspects that need to be developed such as visuals, conformity to age level, connection of samples with life, giving more place to contemporary taching methods etc. Keywords: Social studies, textbook, teacher's opnions.
