Investigation of newspapers and internet news in social sciences courses

In this study, it was aimed to examine the newspapers and internet news in the 5th and 7th grade social studies textbooks which are being taught in state schools affiliated to mone in 2017 - 2018 academic year. In this study, document analysis was used as qualitative research methods. 5th and 7th grade social studies textbooks based on the analysis of research texts aiming to examine the newspapers and internet news. The researches that are appropriate for the purpose of the study were examined and the information and documents to be used in this study were recorded and the information was evaluated on the light. All subjects and subtitles in the units in the 5th and 7th grade social studies textbooks and their achievements were included in the evaluation scale. Unit issues, subject sub-topics and achievements were analyzed with tabulation on evaluation scale. According to the findings of the research, it can be stated that the contents of newspapers and internet news in the textbook of the 5th and 7th grade social studies textbooks are related to the related gains. However, it has been reached that the distribution of newspapers and internet news in the 7th grade social studies course book is lower than the 5th grade course book on the topics, achievements and subject sub-titles.
