Using technology while teaching history subjects in the course of social studies

In this information age, the amount of information has been increasing rapidly, which has caused the need for teaching students more information in less time on one hand and showing them how to access information on the other hand. In order to meet these requirements, technology, which perpetually provides new opportunities for education, has to be used in education efficiently. The aim of this study is to research the case of using technology while teaching history subjects in the course of social studies. For this purpose, in the first part, conceptual framework of social studies teaching technologies was explained. In the second and third parts, research method and findings were presented. Survey model was used in the research. The research data were gathered using two 5 Likert type scales based on ?Using Technology While Teaching History Subjects in the Course of Social Studies?: a ?Teacher?s Questionnaire? and a correlating ?Student?s Questionnaire?. The results were interpreted and several suggestions were put forward for improvement works in the field and for further studies on the subject in terms of using technology while teaching history subjects in the course of social studies.
