Abstract (EN)

The main objective of this thesis is to survey the effect of computer-aided education on the academic success in the unit of ?Our Country and The World? in the 6th grade social sciences classes in primary school level.Study group of the thesis is consisted of 60 students in 6-A and 6-B classes in the second term of 2010-2011 academic year in 125. Yıl Primary School in the Province of Aksaray. This school is preferred for the reason that smart boards, projection devices and computer equipments are available in this school. Also, socio-economic levels and the school marks of the students in the study group have been examined in order to determine the equivalence of the groups.The research data has been collected by ?pre-test and post-test? which were developed by the researcher. The success tests have been applied to the students before the test and after the test as ?pre-test and post-test?. The data has been measured by t-test in SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences Programme), and the meaningfulness has been tested at the .000 level.The differences between computer-aided education of a unit in social sciences class and traditional training methods of this unit and academic successes of the students have been determined. As the result of pre-test and post-test in ?Our Country and The World? unit, the computer-aided education helps lastingness of learning and increase the academic success of the students.Key Words: Computer-Aided Education (CAE), Computer-Aided Training (CAT), Social Sciences, Education and Training Technology, Training Technology, Project of ?Movement of Increasing Opportunities and Improvement of Technology?
