Investigation of social studies teachers 'opinions on the use of informal learning environments (Ağri province sample)

The aim of this study is to examine the views of social studies teachers about the use of informal learning environments in Ağrı sample. In order to realize the aim of the study, semi-structured interview method which is one of the qualitative research methods and screening model was used. In this direction, 40 social studies teachers who were randomly selected and participated in 24 secondary schools in the city center of Ağrı in the 2017-2018 academic year were interviewed face to face. Questions asked during the interview were prepared by taking the opinions of 3 different education experts. The data obtained in the interviews were tabulated taking into consideration the frequency and percentage values and then these values were interpreted. At the end of the study, based on the data of the study social studies teachers should use informal learning environments in the lessons, these environments provide information and make it permanent, information is obtained from primary sources and so on. thought. In the study, it was found that social studies teachers also thought that there were various problems such as insufficient hours of education / equipment / physical environment, and more procedures related to imformal learning. In the last part of the study, in accordance with the findings ,various suggestions such as facilitating the procedures related to informal learning and making the physical and informal education of schools and gardens suitable are given.
