Investigation of factors affecting social studies teachers' job satisfaction in terms of different variables (The case of Aksaray province)

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors which influence the job satisfaction of social studies teachers who work in secondary schools in Aksaray which dependent to Ministry of National Education. This study is a quantitative research and its pattern is a relational screening model. As a data collection tool in the study 'Hackman and Oldham(1975) Job Satisfaction Scale' which consists of 14 items was used. Population of study is composed of the teachers who work in secondary schools which dependent to Ministry of National Education and during the data collection process both face to face interview and online interview methods are preferred. The data were collected from 200 teachers and the data were analyzed by using the SPSS 22 packaged software. In the analysis of data sub branches of independent samples't' test and one way of Variance have been made use of. At the end of the study, significant statistical difference among the social studies teachers in Aksaray whose job satisfaction dependent on the variables like their age, gender, profession time, sort of school, the year which they wait for assigned, working in their hometown, and factor of educational background. Besides them, It is also detected there is no meaningful statistical difference between seniority and social studies teachers' job satisfaction. The research was dissolved with a suggestion about an extensive study about the factors which affects the teachers' job satisfaction as individual, organizational, environmental variable and there must be not only social studies teachers but also other brunches added.
