Evaluation of teacher opinions on secondary school 8th grade TR Revolution History and Kemalism lesson curriculum

Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to find out the current state of reprepared Revolution History and Kemalism lesson curriculum within the constructivist approach and whether it meets expectations with the opinions of teachers who are an important step in practising process of the curriculum. Survey model is used to collect data in this study. The questionnaire used in this study is consists of 8 questions about personal information and 45 questions about elements related to Revolution History and Kemalism lesson curriculum. The data of this study is collected from Social Studies teachers from 56 secondary schools who worked in 2014-2015 academic year in Ağrı province centre and districts. Research data is analyzed with arithmetic average, standard deviation, frequency and percentage tests. In addition, chi square test and crosstab analyze is used to determine relationship between participant answers and independent variables. The findings of the research process are discussed in the conclusion. According to research results, teachers are supportive of curriculum in general as well as they identified some shortcomings of the curriculum. It is seen that the new curriculum partially meets teachers' expectations. Key words: Teacher Opinions, Curriculum Evaluation, Revolution History Teaching, Constructivist Approach
