Kurdish perception and image on social media: Ekşi Sözlük example

Kurds are members of the Republic of Turkey who live within the borders of this state and have rights and duties. They differ from the Turks with their family structure, culture, traditions and customs, and the difference in the language they speak. In the past, when Kurds were mentioned, only the people living in the east came to mind, but now, when Kurds are mentioned, Kurds living almost everywhere come to mind. These people, whom we encounter in every province of Turkey, stand out because they are Kurds. Kurds; Some people's friends, some people's neighbors, some people's relatives. Their differences make them a subject of curiosity. Although many studies have been done about them, there are still many aspects that are unknown. This state of uncertainty pushes people to investigate. This study is a study that investigates the perceptions and images of Kurds through Ekşi Sözlük. Comments taken from Ekşi Sözlük were used in the study. Mixed method will be used in this study, which includes both quantitative and qualitative data. The study will be discussed based on the theory of multiculturalism. There are many previous studies on Ekşi Sözlük. The unique value of the study is the idea of filling the gap in this field, considering that no studies have been conducted on this subject before based on data in the social media environment. When a survey is conducted on the street, obtaining the desired data is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Social media channels such as Ekşi Sözlük offer the opportunity to obtain more useful and efficient results than conducting surveys with thousands of people on this subject.
