Abstract (EN)

As the internet usage has become widespread, the interest in the internet-based platforms has increased. Smart phones, tablet computers, laptop computers, desktop computers and particularly mobile devices that has gained popularity in recent years are used to have access to social media platforms. Since mobile devices provide access to social media regardless of place and time, there has been an increase in social media usage. Wikis, blogs, microblogs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube are among the common/popular social media platforms. On these platforms, users are able to produce content, do shopping and buy products. That is, users have become both producers and consumers. Consumers, consciously and sometimes unconsciously use social media for sharing positive and negative content about products, services, brands and firms. As a result of this, enterprises are obliged to use social media. They learn the desires, demands, complaints and needs of customers through social media. In this regard, social media is used by both firms and consumers effectively. In this research, focusing on the effects of social media on consumer behaviors, a survey study was carried out with 385 participants in Ankara. Keywords: Social Media, Consumer, Consumer Behavior
