Abstract (EN)

In the light of the problems caused by the increasing isolation of individuals and their narrower social relations in modern societies, social capital has come the forefront as a concept that draws attention to the importance of social relations in social sciences. In their daily lives, individuals have some material and spiritual needs, and cannot meet their all these needs without the contributions of other individuals in the society. The relations networks that individuals have in the economic, social, political or religious context are important in this sense. Social capital draws attention to the fact that trust-based social relations networks enable for individuals to overcome problem that they cannot overcome alone, and that this produces not only individual benefits, but also social benefits. Within the framework of the mentioned dynamics of social capital, in this study, women's days will be emphasized as an indicator of both socialization and economic solidarity. For this purpose, the social capital dimensions of women's days in the research will be analyzed and from this point of view, it will be focused on social networks within social groups created by women. These social networks are the source of social capital. Although there are some studies on women's days in the social sciences literature, the fact that this phenomenon has not been addressed within the framework of social capital makes this study important. In this study, which focuses on the existence of social capital in social groups formed for the purpose of organizing women's days, its reflections on women's days, and how this capital affects the social structure, the population of the research consists of women who participate in women's days in Bingöl. In the research, semi-structured interview technique was used as the main data collection technique and in this context, interviews were held with 24 participants. Data was also obtained through observation technique by participating in women's days. The results obtained in the research reveal that women's days make positive contributions to increasing women's social capital, and that women's days are one of the main socialization tools for women participating in these events and have increasing effects on social trust and solidarity.
