Özet (EN)

Linguistic gaps arise within the language itself or when comparing two languages. Linguistic gaps have an important place both in language learning and during translation and transfer. Lexical gaps may occur during translation or may exist within the language itself. The absence of an element to express any concept in the source language creates a lexical gap. It is not possible to detect all lexical gaps. By limiting this situation, the words derived with the +{LIK} suffix in Kazakish were examined. The semantic checks of the words obtained as a result of the examinations were made on the basis of the Turkish Dictionary. The lexical gap samples obtained were evaluated as cultural gaps and semantically existing but not lexicalized gaps. In the thesis study, it is aimed to determine the lexical gaps by comparing Kazakish and Turkish.
