Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the effect of basic tennis training based on Sports Education Model (SEM) on the development of basic motor performance, tennis skills and leadership skills in children aged 10–11. In the research, pre-test-post-test and unequalized control group design, which is one of the quasi-experimental research models, was used. The study group of the research consists of a total of 49 5th grade students, 25 in the experim ental group and 24 in the control group, aged 10-11, who are studying at the secondary school affiliated to the Antalya Provincial Directorate of National Education. In the experimental and control groups participating in the research, pre-tests were taken in the first week, and after the practice process was carried out for 12 weeks, post-tests were taken in the fourteenth week. In practice, basic tennis training was applied to the experimental group with the Sports Education Model (SEM), while basic tennis training was applied to the control group in physical education classes. In the research, static balance (flamingo test), flexibility (sit and reach test), speed (20 m sprint test), agility (T drill test), coordination (hexagon test), hand grip strength (hand grip test), strength and power (vertical jump and standing long jump tests) was used in order to determine the motor performance levels while Wall Catch Coordination and Revised Dyer Backboard tests and data collection tools were used to determine the level of tennis skills. The "Leadership Qualities Scale" developed by Cansoy et al. was used to determine the leadership skill characteristics. The data obtained in the research were calculated with the SSPS program and it was seen that the data obtained was of normal distribution. The socio-demographic characteristics of the study group were determined by frequency and percentage distributions. Independent sample t-test, paired-sample t-test and one-way anova tests were used to determine whether there was a difference between variables. As a result, it has been concluded that basic tennis education applications based on Sports Education Model (SEM) positively affect the motor performance levels, basic tennis skill acquisition and development process and leadership skills development of 10-11 year old children.
