Comparison of some motoric features of students at sport high school and other high schools: That i̇s an example for the Trabzon city

The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is difference between students who are studying at Trabzon Sports High School and other high schools by making camparisons of their psychomotor skills. Study group in this research are consists of 129 students who are studying in Trabzon Sports High School, Trabzon Science High School, Trabzon Fatih Sultan Mehmet Anatolian High School and Akçaabat Multi program High School. In order to identify students basic psychomotor skills, in addition to personal data form, height, body weight, hand reaction, flexibility (sit lie), vertical jump, standing long jump (horizontal jump), push-ups, sit-ups, balance, 20 m sprint and endurance (yo-yo test) are carried out and data is obtained. Firstly, Saphiro Wilks Normal Test is applied to the datas that acqred. While fort he datas that has normal range α=0.05 level of importance and for independ two groups T- test (independent simple t-test) are applied, for non-normally datas Mann Whitney U Test (non parametric test) are applied. The result of the survey have showed that Spor High School students are considerably beter than the other high school students in therms of hand reactıon (p<0.05), flexibility (p<0.05), vertical jump (p<0.05), long jump (p<0.05), push-ups (p<0.05), sit-ups (p<0.05), 20 m sprinting (p<0.05) and endurance (p<0.05). There is no significant difference between the balance tests of the high school students and other high school students (p>0.05). According to the result, motor skills of Sport High School students are better than other high scholls. It can be said that is different stems from not because of the education at Spor High School, but because of sporters tending to Spor High School. Keywords: Sport, Sport High School, Motor Test
