Abstract (EN)

In today's world, due to technological developments and modernization, lifestyle and daily activity changes, along with an increase in sedentary lifestyle and the spread of eating disorders, exercise addiction and healthy eating obsession situations are thought to increase. With the research, it was aimed to determine the symptoms of orthorexia nervosa (obsession with healthy eating) by examining the exercise addictions of individuals who continue to be members of sports centers. The research is a descriptive study in which the instant scanning research method of the screening model, one of the quantitative research types, is used. The research group consists of a total of 410 participants, 297 of whom are men and 113 of whom are women, who continue to be members of sports centers in Antalya province and participate voluntarily, determined by random sampling method. As a data collection tool in the study; the demographic information form prepared by the researchers for the collection of demographic characteristics, the Healthy Eating Obsession Scale (Orthorexia Nervosa Ortho 15), developed by Arusoglu in 2006 to determine the obsession with healthy eating, and Tekkursun et al. to determine the obsession with exercise addiction. the Exercise Addiction Scale (EBÖ), developed in 2018, was used. The data collected within the scope of the research were transferred to a computer environment and analyzed using the SPSS 22 package program. In the analysis of the data, standard deviation, arithmetic mean, frequency percentage distributions and Levene test were used to determine that the data showed normal distribution, so sample t test and One Way ANOVA tests independent of parametric tests were used. As a result, in the study in which the exercise addictions and orthorexia nervosa symptoms of individuals who continue to be members of sports centers were examined, it was concluded that the attitudes related to orthorexia nervosa increased as the adherence to exercise increased according to the findings of the collected data.
