Abstract (EN)

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the preferred learning styles of the students who do sports and do not do sports and to contribute to the future of productive learning and sports life. Method: This Research is a survey type of which is one of the general screening methods. The population of the study consists of secondary and high school students studying in Konyaaltı district of Antalya. The sample of the study consists of 1043 students selected by stratified sampling method among secondary and high school students studying in Konyaaltı district of Antalya. Personal Data Form prepared by the researcher and Kolb Learning Style Inventory-III developed by Kolb and adapted to Turkish by Gencel (2007) were used as data collection tools. SPSS 23 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program was used for statistical analysis of the research data. Within the scope of the research, findings related to independent variables and learning styles were given as frequency (f), percentage (%). Chi-square statistical analysis was used to compare the learning styles according to demographic characteristics. Significance level was determined as 0.05 in the study. The Cronbach-alpha value of the four main learning style scores of the Kolb Learning Style Inventory was found to be (Concrete Experience 0.63; Reflective Observation 0.67; Abstract Conceptualization 0.67; Active Experience 0.69). Results: Students who do sports (27.1%) have placement and students who do not do sports (29.6%) have assimilation learning style. Learning styles were determined by age (p = 0.001); educational level (p = 0.003); class (p = 0.003); school type (p = 0.018); There is a statistically significant difference in grouped data according to father profession (p = 0.010). A statistically significant difference was found in the learning styles of the sportsmen and non-sportsmen (p = 0.013). Learning styles of non-sportmen student to age (p = 0.049) and grouped data according to father's profession a statistically significant difference was found (p = 0.010). Conclusion: In this research, the learning styles of the students doing sports are placement and the learning styles of the students who do not do sports are assimilation A statistically significant difference was found between the learning styles of the students who do sports and those who do not (p <0.05).
