Abstract (EN)
In this study, it has been investigated whether sports has an effect on risky behaviors, psychological resilience and self-esteem. The sample of the study consisted of 551 licensed players and non-players aged 15-16 years. Data were collected using Personal Information Form, Child and Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Risky Behavior Scale. As a result of the analyses, it was found that there was a negative and significant relationship between sport and risky behaviors. However, there were positive and significant correlations between sport and both psychological resilience and self-esteem. In addition, it was found both psychological resilience and self-esteem predicted through tendency of risk behaviors in adolescents. The findings are discussed based on the data in the literature.
