Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to explain the sources of stress of academicians, to investigate how they manage stress, and to determine how stress management affects work performances. Whith the calculation made using the propartional sample volüme formula, 203 sample of the academicians working in Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University formed the sample volüme. The analysis of the data obtained by face question naire methot was evaluated by using SPSS Package Program. Frequency and percentage analysis, factor analysis, t test, one-way ANOVA,Kuruskal Wallis analysis and regression analysis were used to evaluate the survey results. According to the findings; it is seen that the working faculty members are more male (70.4%), married (75.4%) and 26-35 years (43.3%). While "gossiping in the workplace constitutes" the most significant source of stress, "choosing the right person and conditions that are appropriate to the expectations and aims of life" is one of the methods used to deal with stress. It was found that stress-generating factors, stress management and job performance did not differ according to demographic characteristics (gender, marital status, professional seniority, monthly income, family population). In addition, stress factors and stress management had no effect on job performance. Keywords: Stress, Academician, Stress Sources, Coping with stress, Job performance
