Abstract (EN)

In this study, protective effects of Cyclotrichium niveum were investigated in rats with STZ type 1 diabets. Fatty acids, glutathione (GSH), ADEK vitamin levels were determined. In the study, 28 adult male Wistar albino rats randomly selected at a weight of 200-250 gr were divided into 4 groups. Each group was set to have 7 rats. The control group was fed with the standard diet. STZ administration 55 mg / kg STZ was administeted to the diabetes group. The D+DN group mixture was given 55 mg/kg STZ+ 4 ml/kg DN, 4 ml/kg oragastric. The DN group was left in the hot water (100 ml) to brew 20 grams of dried CN plant. 4 ml/kg was given orally. It was found that palmitic acid (16:0) level in the liver tissue decreased in STZ and STZ + DN groups (p<0.001). There was a decrease in the STZ and STZ + DN groups compared to control at the level of alpha linolenic acid (18: 3 n-3) (p <0.01). There was a statistically significant increase in the levels of STZ and STZ + DN groups in docosahexaenoic acid (22: 6, n- 3) fatty acid groups compared to the control groups (p <0.001). It was observed that STZ and STZ+DN groups of retinol and K2 vitamins increased significiantly in liver tissue compared to the control (p>0.05). The levels of vitamin D3 and Alfa-tocopherol in STZ and STZ + DN groups decreased significantly (p<0.001) in comparison with the control group. The levels of gutathione (GSH) in all groups were decreased when compared to control grup (p<0.001). According to our experimental results, it was determined that adducts of Cyclotrichim niveum extract had effects on fatty acids and glutathione (GSH) at different levels in rats STZ induced diabetes.
