In this thesis, aimes to examine to perception of woman in the history and culture of sufism and go over the work of Mevlana who is quite important in sufistic literature, and to find out his perception of woman. This thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the status of woman in the history of sufism had been examined and the woman in the school of sufism and their understanding about sufism and the status of woman at the main orders (tarikats) had been come up. In the second chapter, perception of woman in sufism had been examined. Issue of woman had been come up in the context of the sufistic knowledge and enlightenment. The status of woman at the present time had been examined. In the third chapter, the all works of Mevlana and his perception of women had been examined within the scope of the woman. Concordantly, the role of woman in the Mevlevi order had been investigated.
