Abstract (EN)

Recently, biological methods in the treatment of metal-containing wastewater are preferred to conventional physical chemical treatment methods because they are effective, practical and economical and scientific research is gaining importance in this direction. Lead and cadmium are the most common industrial wastewater and have significant toxic effects on living organisms. In this study, bioassay experiments were carried out using different concentrations of lead and cadmium-containing solutions using Escherichiae coli strain. For this purpose, the minimum inhibition concentrations for lead and cadmium metals were calculated (500 ppm for lead; 50 ppm for cadmium), then the sub-doses of these concentrations (62,5, 125, 250 ppm for lead, 6,25, 12,5, 25 ppm for cadmium) were applied for 24 hours and the levels of metal that remained in the broth, kept on the bacterial cell surface and deposited in the cell were determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy. As a result of the application of cadmium at a dose of 25 ppm with a difference of 6,97% according to the control group, the maximum accumulation was observed as a result of 250 ppm lead application with an increase of 44,83% compared to the control. With the results of this study, a preliminary idea was given to the studies of lead and cadmium bioremediation / biosorption / bioaccumulation.
