Abstract (EN)

Economic growth has brought many benefits such as raising living standards and improving the quality of life worldwide, but has led to depletion of natural resources and degradation of ecosystems. This situation raises two questions; ''should production be abandoned in order not to harm the environment?'' or ''should the environmental damage be ignored by keeping economic growth in the foreground?'' These questions point to the need for sustainable growth, which is environmentally friendly growth. Sustainable growth means meeting the needs of the future generations and meeting the needs of the current generations and optimum use of natural resources without wasting. In sustainable growth, besides ensuring economic growth, increasing environmental quality is also important. The purpose of this study is to evaluate fiscal policy tools in the protection of the environment within the scope of sustainable growth. For his purpose, using the descriptive method, environmental problems that prevent sustainable growth are explained and fiscal policy tools are explained to prevent envitonmental problems. Finally, fiscal policy instruments compared apply for the protection of the environment in the European Union countries and Turkey; protecting the environment, fiscal policy tools implemented in Turkey has concluded that to be effective. In this respect, protection of the environment of fiscal policy instruments applied for the purpose of environmental protection in Turkey was made in the reorganization proposal, keeping it at the forefront.
