Abstract (EN)
With the significant role of the cities on achieving the sustainable development, the conceptof ''Sustainable City'' has been introduced to our life. Sustainable Cities are kind of citieswhere socio-economic interests are accorded with concerns about environment and energy inorder to maintain the change and development. Beyond the cities providing a basis foreconomic developments, it is determined that the consumers of natural sources, are alsoresponsible for pollution and wastes at the same time. This fact proves the criticalcircumstances of sustainability.By ecological and technological designing of the new living space which is comfortable, nonpollutingand also minimizing the carbon consumption, it will be possible to contributesustainability.For research area, a small settlement, Amasra has been selected in that it is near tometropolitan region, Ankara and it still preserves its ecological conditions along with itspotential to provide sustainability. In this context, ecological and technological issues ofAmasra and its potential have been stated clearly, SWOT analysis and has been made in thisthesis.
