Özet (EN)

Recently rapidly developing technology and economy have both positive effects and also have caused so many negative results such as the increase in the need of energy use. The usage of energy without control and the usage of fosil energy sources cause irreversible damages to the ecological balance. The change in the climate is a big danger on the ecosystem and livig creatures. These dangers which happen are also caused by construction companies. With the increase in the dangerous effects to the nature the sustainability had been a very important thing. Sustainability happens with working together the parameters of social-cultural, economic and environmental factors. There are many studies under the sustainability. One of these studies is ecologic buildings. Ecological structures are becoming important for solving these emerging problems and creating a livable environment and sustainable cities. Ecological structures should be designed to integrate with the climate conditions of the region in which they are located. Turkey is quite rich in terms of climate conditions compared to other countries. When used correctly, this richness offers various advantages for ecological structures. In building designs, energy conservation can be achieved by utilizing natural energy sources, adapting to the climate conditions of the region, and using local materials in construction. This study emphasizes the importance of ecological structures designed in accordance with sustainability principles. It argues that these structures should be in harmony with nature, energy efficient, and based on the use of local materials. Taking the city of Gaziantep as an example, sustainable architectural approaches suitable for the climatic, geographical, and cultural characteristics of this region were investigated. The spatial design of traditional Gaziantep houses, the natural building materials used, and the climate-adaptive design features were examined. The Gaziantep Kilis Road Ecological City Application Design Guide was comprehensively evaluated under the headings of ecological, economic, and social sustainability. The planned ecological city project aims to promote the efficient use of natural resources, the preservation of local architectural values, and the reduction of environmental impacts in line with sustainability principles. The study represents an innovative regional-scale response to current environmental threats such as climate change, depletion of water resources, and unconscious energy consumption. The project offers a planning approach that integrates Gaziantep's ecological, cultural, andclimatic characteristics, thereby providing the city with a sustainable development model. The Gaziantep Kilis Road Ecological City Implementation Design Guide establishes a model that could serve as an example for other cities with its comprehensive and sustainable planning approaches.
