Abstract (EN)

Silk Road; In addition to being one of the trade routes formed due to the commercial relations between the east and the west, it has served as a bridge between different nations, languages, religions and cultures for centuries. It is seen that many studies have been carried out on the Silk Road, which has an important place in the context of trade-city-transportation concepts in Anatolia. However, studies mostly focus on road routes and commercial activities. The city of Trabzon, which has an important port on the Eastern Black Sea coast since ancient times, is a junction point where commercial roads from the east and south intersect. The Sürmene-Bayburt Caravan Road route, which is a branch of the Silk Road passing through Trabzon, and the architectural structuring around this route are thought to be an important research topic. The aim of the study can be classified as examining the reasons for the location of the Sürmene-Bayburt Caravan Road in this region, investigating the benefits of this road for the region, examining the social structure in the region and recording the existing historical structures. The methods to be followed in line with the determined objectives; written and oral literature review, preparation of maps describing the road route and the relationship between this route and the historical structures in the region, drawing up the plans of the structures determined in the inn areas, photographing and taking the coordinate points.
