Abstract (EN)

The creation and study of nuclear reactions involving neutrons begins with the discovery of the neutron. Since the neutron is uncharged particle, it can get close enough to the nucleus and easily enter the range of nuclear forces. If the energy of neutron is low enough, it is captured by the nucleus, thus forming a compound nucleus rich in neutrons in an excited state. The excited nucleus returns to stable state using either β decay or fission reaction channel. For cases where the fission reaction channel is open, the symmetric mass distributions of the product nuclei that occur when the nucleus undergoes fission can be explained by the liquid drop model, while the asymmetric mass distributions can be explained to some extent by the shell model of the nucleus. In this study, considering the shell effects on the liquid drop model, important fission characteristics, Z 2 /A ratios will be calculated with Mathematica and the asymmetric symmetric mass distributions of the product nuclei will be compared with the available experimental data.
