Abstract (EN)

In machining, it is important to recognize the material of the part to be machined. The standard of the material gives information about the quality of the cutting tool to be used and the cutting speed. The depth of cut (ap) and feed rate (fz) depend on the shape of the workpiece and whether the operation is in the rough, medium rough or finishing stage. The cutting speed (Vc) is determined by the quality of the cutting tool and the type of material. Tool quality includes not only the coating but also the carbide structure used, which is also influential in determining the appropriate cutting speed. In this study, the effect of cutting parameters (cutting speed, feed rate, chip depth) of cutting tools used in machining on tool life was investigated. 6 mold parts of 2344 material were machined by trochoidal and conventional milling with 2 milling cutters of the same specification. The tool working with trochoidal cutting method was worn 30,58µm in 9 minutes 54 seconds and the tool working with conventional cutting method was worn 153,28µm in 17 minutes 40 seconds. The trochoidal cutting method proved to be more advantageous than the conventional cutting method in terms of both speed and tool life.
