Examination of misconceptions in alternative measurement and evaluation concepts with four-tier test

The aim of this study was to examine the misconceptions of teachers' in the concepts of alternative assessment and evaluation with a four-tier test. For this purpose, a four-tier misconception test consist of 15 items has been developed. For the reliability of developed misconception test in the study, test-retest and KR-20 method were used. For the validity of the test, expert opinions were taken, positive false and negative false percentages were calculated, the relationships between the scores obtained from different stages of the test were examined, and the relationship between the two tier test and the scores obtained from the developed test in this study were examined. The sample of the study consists of 360 teachers working at different grade of schools in Adıyaman in the 2020-2021 academic year. In addition to such as frequency and percentage statistics, test and item statistics and correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data. In the research, it has been determined that teachers in general experience a partial misconceptions and lack of knowledge in alternative assessment and evaluation. Teachers experience the most misconceptions about performance task and lack knowledge about the most structured grid. Key words: Alternative measurement and evaluation, Four tier test, Misconceptions
