Özet (EN)
Today, modern technology has led to the development of novel items and new methodologies in numerous industries. Artificial intelligence technology, developed with the advancement of technology, is used for various purposes in different disciplines today. The use of artificial intelligence technology, which has a wide range of applications, is limited in the field of architecture and architectural restoration. This study focuses on the possibilities of using artificial intelligence technologies and the contributions of these technologies in the restoration process of historical buildings, which are an important part of our cultural heritage. The aim of the research is to develop an artificial intelligence-supported damage detection model for faster and more accurate detection of deterioration in historical buildings. The research enables the correct diagnosis of the damages occurring in the building and the intervention decisions to be taken more accurately. The scope of the research consists of traditional Gaziantep houses located in the historical city centre of Gaziantep. The location, plan, facade, material and covering systems of these buildings are examined in detail. The basic materials of the research consist of registration slips, old maps, old photographs, surveys and reports of these houses. In addition, it is based on the findings obtained in the field research. These mentioned materials are important for a better understanding and preservation of traditional Gaziantep houses. In the research, the current conditions of traditional Gaziantep houses were determined in detail with surveying studies and the types of deterioration seen on the facades were documented using the mapping method. As a result of the research, it was seen that the deterioration maps created by traditional methods, which require considerable resources and time, can be done faster and more accurately with the damage detection model developed with artificial intelligence. The developed model enables the production of deterioration maps by detecting the types of deterioration seen on the facades of historical buildings.
