Abstract (EN)

Apartment buildings, which are produced as a solution to rapid population growth, have been a type of housing preferred by users since the first dates they emerged. It was first seen in Istanbul after the imperial edict of reorganization in our country, and after 1950, it started to be made in many cities across the country and became widespread. This study aims to identify the buildings that are the first apartment buildings of the city, made between the Hermann Jansen Plan (1938), the first zoning plan of the city of Gaziantep, and the third zoning plan, Zühtü Can Plan (1970), and to reveal how these buildings developed through the plan scheme. In this study, which is basically an apartment research, the emergence of apartment buildings and the factors affecting this process are discussed. Starting from all over the world, the first apartment examples have been examined, especially in the city of Gaziantep. In the city of Gaziantep, Atatürk Boulevard, where the first apartment buildings were seen, and then in the neighborhoods that developed in the direction of Ordu Street, field studies were carried out and the samples found were examined on the plan scheme.
