Digital transformation and finance in agriculture: Turkey products specialized exchange (Turi̇b)

In the periods when agriculture was unknown and there was no settled life, mankind exhibited a hunter-gatherer lifestyle in order to survive for a very long time. The period when mankind first succeeded in settling down by cultivating various plants and domesticating animals, and when they made the transition from a gathering lifestyle to a productive lifestyle, constituted the building block of the fundamental economic change called the Agricultural Revolution. With the transition to the agricultural revolution, the way mankind utilized the resources in its natural environment increased in an extraordinary way and they gained access to more sources of nutrition. The increasing speed of technological developments and the digitalization process affect many sectors as well as the agricultural sector. With digitalization in agriculture, also known as smart agriculture; the tools and equipment used in every stage of production are equipped with various sensors and devices, and during the production process; more efficient and healthy irrigation is provided, and detailed information is provided on issues such as the amount of minerals and fertilization the soil needs, and maximum efficiency is achieved. With technological developments, the ability to store agricultural products for long periods and under healthy conditions, to bring buyers and sellers together without an intermediary from an industry perspective, and to sell the product at its real value are also becoming increasingly important. In this context, Product Specialization Exchanges operate worldwide. In this study, interviews were conducted with producers in order to measure the level of knowledge of producers about the Turkish Product Specialization Exchange within the scope of digital transformation in agriculture in Turkey and to determine whether they will use this exchange in terms of purchase and sale transactions in the future, and the results were presented in the form of findings.
