Abstract (EN)

Art has been a means of expression in various forms throughout human history. Improvement of technology has affected the arts and artists, by providing more free thinking environment and introducing different approaches. The installation art located within the conceptual art is one of the consequences of this change. Installation artists use space to attract people's attention to express their message and communicate with people. The main goal of this study is examining the presence of installation art in the interior which handles conceptual thinking as a design source by reflecting the views of the user, artist and researcher to raise the awareness of interior designers and interior design candidates related to the issue. This study of scientific research is a type of "basic research" group. In terms of causality, it is a survey research. In the study, "event method" of survey search has been used, compilation of documentary sources and judicial sampling were done, and data were collected through interviewing and observing techniques. At the first part of the study which consists of two parts, characteristics and classification of installation art has been explained through the relationship of space and art piece. At the second part of the study which is the application phase, six installation works of museum interior has been chosen, and their relationship with the space they are in have been examined "functionally", "visually" and "conceptually". To this end, a group of audience have been observed and interviewed later. Additionally, researchers' thoughts based on their experience and each of the art piece creator's thoughts related to the art piece have been beneficial for establishing the relationship in question. In the light of the examined findings, it is concluded that installation art works has a definable relationship with the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the interior.
